I passed matriculation examination in 1994. My exam mark could not go to the any Institute. But I satisfied with that situation because even I got higher mark, I have no money to go University. Our family economy was getting worse day by day after my father passed away when I was in middle school. Only my elder sister had a job with little money to survive our family.
Our brothers & sisters could not attend tuition because we did not have income except my father passion and we were rely on government school. However, since that period, the teacher from Government School were not interested in teaching. Attending tuition virus was started to spread in Myanmar. Most students are also attending Government School for roll call which is effect for examination. One of my brother dropped out from high school because of difficulties.
I remember the day when I was in matriculation. I requested to a teacher to explain well of exercise because I was not attending tuition. But he did not believe on it and he though I was joking, and left from class. I was so sad, how can I tried to pass my exam with this situation. And I realized that why my brother dropped out from school.
I studied with colorful & bitter feeling through out the year. Because my mum said she spend all of my father passion for my education for one year. Because matriculation is very important in Myanmar. If I failed this examination, no money for education and for my family as well. I really thanks to my mum who sacrificed everything for my life.
Before examination result come out, I touch the students from kindergarten to middle school at my house to survive me & my family life. Luckily, I passed the examination..better consider " how I feel happy"...Then I attended University of Distance Education.
You may notice that Myanmar Government intended to do 1996 would be Visit Myanmar Year. They build some hotels at our state. One of my friend persuaded me to study English while Hotels are under construction. So that we can join when Hotels are opened. Then I agreed that is one of my chance to get a job without giving money because as our state was very narrow minded since that time . Parents did not let their daughter work at Hotels.
Good fortune stroke to my life, I got a chance to work for Ministry of Hotel & Tourism as a Receptionist at one of new hotel . Though hotel was new most of staff were transfer from one of sub-department under Ministry of Hotel & Tourism. They gave lesson to new staff like me who has no experience. Later experience touch me how to deal with them. Anyhow I really thanks to them .
According to the work of nature, I could adjust my colleagues to my duty shift from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM as I wanted to study for my future.During that time I met one teacher at the English Class. He is not look like a thousand other teachers. Because he teaches his students not only English but also social dealing, way of thinking, value of life...etc...... He guided us our life.
After working nearly eight years , I decided to resign from my job because I feel that this is not the place to devote throughout my life.So I changed my working environment from government field to international private field. Foreigners from my next job were very kind to me so that I could forward my life by the help of my benevolent teacher whenever I had stress and difficulties. He established his class on 14 March 1990.
Due to the his gratitude , I could stand on my food in my life. He always ask us to make some progress every day. So that March 14 is very remarkable day in my life.
